I want a goat

Goats are on my list of animals I want to own someday.  I had completely forgotten about this picture, and now that I found it again, I am in love with it.

For our first year wedding anniversary my husband I took a mini vacation to Madison Indiana and surrounding areas to tour some wineries.  One winery that we explored was the Stream Cliff Farm Winery, which is also attached to their Herb Garden and Tea Room.  I took this picture when touring their gardens.  The gardens at the Herb Farm and Tearoom were very inspirational to me.  I came away with ideas, motivation, and pictures.

What is an animal you want to own someday?  Have you taken any trips where you found things or places that enhanced or further inspired your own goals?

Local Apples

This fall we headed down to Evan’s Orchard.  Evan’s Orchard is currently my favorite u-pick place.   We picked some apples out in the orchard, bought more apples in their store, and picked up the best apple cider we’ve ever had.

The apples below are ones we picked up in the store.

I admit I partially wanted them just because I liked their coloring so much.  They were labeled as being a good sauce variety, and I made my first very small batch of applesauce.   I had never had homemade applesauce before, and I was pleasantly surprised.  It was the day I learned that applesauce was good.
